You are tired of waiting 80+ minutes between downloads from rapidshare? Shure you are! Here are some tricks to get rid of the waiting time:
1. Use (several) proxys : http://www.tech-recipes.com/(1)
(works, but can be a pain)
2. Get another IP : http://www.tech-recipes.com/(1) and http://www.tech-recipes.com/(2)
(works, but you need to disconnect from the net)
3. Use an anonymous network : http://www.tech-recipes.com/(1)
(works, but chances are dl will be very slow)
4. Get a premium account 
: http://rapidshare.com
(works, but costs money)
5. Use a better one click file hoster, and convince anybody to do so as well: http://www.egoshare.com
(works, but it’s not very practicable, I know)
Note: The javascript trick to eliminate waiting time before download does no longer work (all the others should).
Its ashame rapid share is down 99.9% of the time.

right, sorry about the caps. But you have the be careful, rapidshare are deleting ‘illegal’ material faster then ever.
This is why i propose you use http://rapidbolt.com – a service which masks the download page and hides the download URLs! Thus nobody can EVER report your files, so its very unlikely your files will be removed from rapidshare.com
Well, these ‘link protection’ sites have to relay you to the appropriate rapidshare site for a given file, so that you can access and download that file. So the links are obfuscated, but still recoverable, and can be reported.
I think the best use for these sites is to protect uploaders from linkstealers, as they cannot simply copy paste a list of links from a webpage or forum.
I think you’ll find you’re wrong, we coded rapidbolt ourselves and know how the backend works. We know on fact that it almost impossible for anyone besides us to locate the orginal files.

Not true, it’s very easy. You just obfuscate the links by replacing the file specific part with ascii character codes:
rapidshare.com/files/12345667/somefile.rar becomes
rapidshare.com/files/&# x6B;&# x84;&# x34;&# x33;&# x52;&# x34;&# x32;&# x10;/dl/&# x
[snipped rest of code, spaces inserted; no real conversion done; no actual rapidshare link used]
So it is just a matter of throwing together a little perl / python / whatever script to get the ‘real’ links back. Protection broken / never existed.

As stated in my previous comment, these link protection site will NOT protect your files from being reported! They only slow down linkstealers (and give you on linke for multiple files)! These RIAA,MPAA and the like will have no problem getting these links unscrambled and the files reported. Prove me wrong if you can =)
Oh, and it is a no go that you cannot use rapidbold without a rapidshare account. There are better link ‘protection’ sites than this. Try rapidsafe.de for example.
I’m using rapidshare for very long time. But never had a premium account since i can’t afford to buy it … if anyone can email me one premium account i’ll be ever grateful.

Rapidshare sucks big time!
It’s super easy to find out what the ‘protected’ RS.com file links really are, specially if you’re using a rapid download manager. So far, I’ve not found ONE so-called link protector that does not send the original link to my download manager! It’s hidden and covered in my browser’s address bar, but as soon as it gets pushed to my download manager program for downloading, it’s the original rapidshare files in all it’s glory! Maybe this only happens with my Mac and my Speed Download program, but I suspect it’s universal. Isn’t there anything we can do about this? I’m so tired of re-uploading everything!

You are right, there is no way to protect the RS.com links, because your browser or download manager has to access the ‘real’, i.e. ‘unprotected, files from RS.com.
What you can do about this? Stop uploading illegal files =P

i would like to answer to everyone who thinks rapidshare sucks. I was a torrent user myself before. however, when i compare the speed i have with rapidshare TORRENTS SUCK. i can download a 8 GB game with rapidshare in 2 hours MAX, a movie in 10 MINUTES. And since the day I tasted rapidshare, I even uninstalled the torrent software. All of them. Rapidshare is the leader in this job and stop your stupid comments if you dont know. pay 10 dollars to rapidshare and you have 100 GB of downloads which become a pleasure not a torture like torrentz….. so get a life guys…..

You can still bypass the download ticker.
All you need is Firefox(http://www.spreadfirefox.com/) with Firebug(http://getfirebug.com/) plugin installed.
When the download ticker page loads all you need to do is open the console and type in c=2; and voila you can immediately enter the non-human readable captcha
And in response to the comment from people who say to buy a “Premium Account”. No doubt, buying an account takes away all these problem with tickets etc… but the issue that i have with rapidshare is that if they are making money from subscription of users who are basically downloading illegal content from their servers, aren’t they ethically responsible to pass-on some of the revenue they earn from subscription onto the content providers. If they do then we are basically paying for legal content and everyone is happy. Unless Rapidshare owns up to this responsibility there will be people like me who will always try to find a work around and avoid paying up to rapidshare.

Why bother use rapidshare if we can use torrent. Sure you’ll find torrents so slow if you don’t have any idea to set it right. I’m using utorrent all the time with average download speed 50kB/s, if you don’t know how fast that is, this is the example, I can download 750MB file only for 3 hours, see… Don’t be lazy, do googling and find a way to set the torrent downloader right!
